Overview

The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for a wide range of legal tasks, including but not limited to legal document preparation, document review, certain legal and public records search, preparation of trial and hearing binders and exhibits, exhibit review and presentation, drafting of letters, correspondence and legal pleadings, discovery requests and overall discovery and case management.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing case files, discovery documents, pleadings, and correspondence related to employment law matters.
  • Conduct legal research on employment laws, statutes, case law, and regulatory updates.
  • Prepare and organize documents for client meetings, hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all deadlines are met and all documents are properly filed.
  • Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, an assist with inquiries.
  • Assist with drafting settlement agreements, demand letters and other legal documents.
  • Support attorneys in preparing for hearings, mediations, and trials, including coordinating logistics and evidence.
  • File legal documents with courts and administrative agencies, such as the EEOC.
  • Calendaring of all deadlines
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of paralegal experinece in employment law
  • Legal Document Preparation, Document Review, and Legal Research skills
  • Ability to draft certain legal documents for attorney review
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of both State and Federal Court procedures and filing systems
  • Familiarity with jury and bench trial process and procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in a law firm or legal setting
  • Paralegal certification or degree in paralegal studies is a strong plus
  • Employment Law/Wage & Hour experience a strong plus, but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), legal research tools, and case management software.
  • Strong multitasking skills

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift - 8am - 5pm, 8:30am -5:30pm, or 9am -6pm
  • Monday to Friday
  • Onsite Professional Office Setting
